Dear Parent/Guardian,

On Monday, August 19, 2019, the Milaca School Board unanimously approved two ballot initiatives to address the challenges facing our district:

BALLOT WORDING:  The board of Independent School District No. 912 (Milaca), Minnesota has proposed to increase the School District’s general education revenue by $250.95 per pupil, subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation. The proposed referendum revenue authorization would be first levied in 2019 for taxes payable in 2020 and applicable for ten (10) years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law.

Shall the increase in the general education revenue proposed by the board of Independent School District No. 912 (Milaca), Minnesota be approved?

BALLOT WORDING: Shall the board of Independent School District No. 912 (Milaca), Minnesota be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an aggregate amount not to exceed $5,100,000 for acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including career and technical education facility improvements, various required capital maintenance projects inclusive of roofing, pool, windows and security?

Our District’s desire is to continue responsibly managing current and future tax levies. If the community approves these questions on November 5, the average tax impact is estimated below:
