January 5 - Return to School on January 19: PreK-Grade 2 In-Person Full-time & Grades 3-12 Hybrid Learning

Greetings Milaca Families,

I appreciate your patience as we have been working diligently over the last month for the return of as many students as possible. Per Governor Walz's executive order, we can start bringing three elementary grade levels back in-person (full-time) the week of January 18. Following this order, students in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade will return on January 19 in-person (full-time)!

We were informed today by our Regional Support Team (MDE/MDH) that we can expand the number of students returning on January 19, while adhering to proper mitigation strategies. On January 19, students in 3rd grade through 12th grade return to the hybrid learning model!

Once student return, we will continue to monitor the case numbers within our school community and the county to determine when additional grade levels may resume full-time. As a community, we have to be aware that if case numbers increase within our school community or county, we may have to adjust back to a more restrictive learning model. I believe our staff, students, and communities will continue to work together on mitigation strategies to ensure we continue on the path to bring all students back full-time.

Timeline

January 5-14:
Distance Learning (K-12)

January 15 and 18:
No School for Students
(These days are staff planning days to prepare for the return to school.)

January 19:
Preschool - 2nd Grade In-Person Learning (full-time)
Grades 3-12 Hybrid Learning

Additional information will be sent out by building principals in the near future.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. This is a step in the right direction! I look forward to having students back!

Go Wolves!
