Curriculum is more than just the courses of study offered in our district. In the field of education, curriculum includes the learning expectations, the methods, and the materials a district uses to instruct and assess students' learning in each course of study. Having an articulated curriculum based on defined expectations or standards is the cornerstone of effective education.
The office of curriculum coordinates an important piece in a district's educational effectiveness. This is the planning, implementing, assessing, and reporting of district progress to meet those standards as well as conducting and administering testing programs to monitor district accountability and student achievement.
