It has come to my attention that Foley Public Schools has confirmed a person that is infected with COVID-19 was in their district last Thursday and Friday. Foley Public Schools has canceled all activities and closed their school buildings. With Foley being a close neighbor, we have decided it is in our best interest to cancel school for students and staff tomorrow, March 17, 2020. Students will be directed to clean out their spaces and bring home their materials today to allow our staff to clean and disinfect the school.
We will continue to monitor the situation and look to MDE/MDH for further guidance. Until then, the Milaca Public Schools will be closed to all students and staff. Staff - please watch for further information about the remainder of the week. Tonight’s board meeting will be postponed to a later date to be determined.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we continue to collaborate with the Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota Department of Health, and area school districts as the situation unfolds.
