Final Draft Format for all English Writing Assignments

• Use 12 point size, regular style (not italics, bold, etc)
• Use a plain font like Times New Roman or Helvetica (not script)
• Use 1” margins
• Double space the entire document. Do not hit any extra returns at the end of lines
• Place your last name and page number on the upper right of each page
• Start your heading on the first line of the first page
  Heading goes on the left margin
  Heading is double spaced
  Heading is four lines: Name, Instructor’s Name, Class Name & Hour, Due Date
• Center your title below the Due Date
  Capitalize the first word, the last word, and all important words in the title
  Do not boldface, underline, shadow, use quotation marks, or increase size
• Start your paragraphs below the title
  Indent the first line of each paragraph
  Do not hit any extra returns; the computer will double space for you
• Do not put “The End” at the end
• Avoid using these words: there, thing, a lot, got, you
   

Academic Integrity

• All students are encouraged to exhibit personal honesty in their work and expect the same from others.
• Definition: With regards to individuals, offenses of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to

1. Cheating on a quiz or test by using concealed answers or by copying another student’s work
2. Copying an assignment or worksheet, or sharing information about an assignment or test
3. Offering to another student the answers to an assignment, worksheet, or test, whether solicited or unsolicited, in written or verbal communication
4. Theft of intellectual property, such as assignments, worksheets, notes, notebooks, tests, or test answer key
5. Lying to a teacher about academic activities
6. Failing to indicate quotations taken from a source or failing to identify sources in writing (plagiarism). This includes copying anything directly from the internet.

With regards to groups, the policy may be altered by cirumstances of the task involved. Students will be informed of the limits of cooperation.

• Consequences: Students who act in an academically dishonest manner will receive no credit (a zero) for any and all assignments that were not their own intellectual work. Academic dishonesty may also result in additional consequences.
