Children in kindergarten will have a variety of educational experiences throughout the year. We strongly believe that every child is capable of learning and we are determined to find the learning style your child needs to succeed. Kindergarten is a stepping stone to a lifetime of learning!
Throughout the year, we focus on reading skills such as letter names, letter sounds, sight words, writing skills, rhyming words, and phonics. This year we will be using Benchmark Literacy curriculum to teach these concepts.
In math our focus includes sorting, patterning, recognizing numbers, counting, telling time, adding, subtracting, and calendar concepts. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Math Expressions is the main curriculum that we use for our math instruction.
All other areas of our curriculum, such as science, social studies, and health support the learning we do in reading and math.
