Do you have a questions about your child's development? Or do you know someone who does? If you are concerned about a child's development and simply want assistance in determining if a referral is appropriate, please tell them about our Early Intervention program at Milaca Elementary School.

School districts provide early education services to any child with special needs starting at birth. This includes children who, because of prematurity or other complications, may experience problems or difficulties in the areas of development. Parents work together with a team of professionals from education, health and human service agencies to plan the services the child needs. Services are free to children who meet eligibility requirements.

What happens when you call? Based on the information you provide, our staff will set up an appointment to meet with parents and child in your home or at the school. Parent permission must be granted in order to proceed in this process. What happens during the referral process? Parents know their children better than anyone and based on the social, developmental and health history information provided an evaluation plan will be developed if appropriate.
