College & Military Entrance Exams
Which Test Should You Take?
Requirements vary by school. Research your college(s) test policies to learn more about if they require ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer testing. Some colleges and/or universities may offer test-optional admission. Verify each college's specific requirements by visiting their website or contacting the colleges' admissions counselor. Scholarships may still require entrance exam scores. Check scholarship requirements separately. 

ACT 
Most four-year colleges accept the ACT College Entrance Test. High School Juniors are offered to take the ACT at Milaca High School in the Spring. We recommend taking the ACT with the Writing if you're unsure which college you may attend. If you would like to retake the ACT, first check with the college(s) you are applying to so you can make sure they will receive the new test results in time for admission or scholarship decisions. You can sign up to retake the ACT at: www.actstudent.org. Please check with your school counselor if you need a fee waiver for an ACT retest. 

SAT
If you are planning on attending a college on the West or East coast, make sure to check with the specific college on what their test requirements. SAT is typically used for West and East coast colleges and/or universities. 

ACCUPLACER
Technical and community colleges have their own assessment tests students complete as part of the application process. Typically, students apply to the college, and then receive communication from the college about signing up to take their assessment test (often the Accuplacer test).

ASVAB
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a timed, multi-aptitude test used by the United States military to determine if an individual is a good fit for enlistment. Students interested in joining the military should register to take the ASVAB. 11th and 12th grade students are offered to take the ASVAB test in early November each year at Milaca High School.
