Below are Scholarships advertised to Milaca High School that are NOT specific to Milaca Students- these are available to students throughout Minnesota or the Nation:

The Clifford H. "Ted" Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation

AHRI oversee the Rees Scholarship Foundation, which was established to assist with the recruitment and competency of future HVACR technicians by awarding scholarships to qualified students who are enrolled in an institutionally accredited school. Since 2003, the Rees Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $1 million to over 700 deserving students. Each year, the foundation awards scholarships of up to $2,000 each to qualified students. Scholarship recipients also receive a free Ready to Work test through our partnership with North American Technician Excellence (NATE). More information on the Rees Scholarship can be found here.

There are multiple scholarship programs with varying eligibility requirements, but generally they all require official transcripts and a short essay. There are two application cycles, one for fall semester applications, which are due October 1st and another for spring semester applications, which are due June 1st.  More information on eligibility requirement and how to apply for a Rees Scholarship can be found here.

Hagan Scholarship Foundation 

Hagan scholarship is a unique need-based merit scholarship. All eligible students in the high school graduating class can apply, even students who are not U.S. Citizens. Please go to the website to find out the requirements and application process. https://haganscholarships.org/

The application deadline is December 1, 2025.

SFM Foundation Scholarship Opportunity 

The SFM Foundation provides scholarships for students parents who were seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota or Iowa employers. You have the opportunity to benefit up to $15,000.00 for 4 years. You can apply at www.sfmfoundation.com Deadline for the scholarship is March 31, 2026. 

The Horatio Alger Association is seeking students who display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Students must have financial need and a determination to turn adversity into opportunity and pursue their American Dream. If you know students that you believe would be great candidates, please share this information with them and encourage them to apply.

• Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States

• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States

• Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)

• Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

• Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

Be a United States citizen

Seniors Deadline is February 15th 2026

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States

• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at one of the target colleges/universities on our website (complete list can be found here: Senior Scholarships)

• Demonstrate financial need ($100,000 or lower household income)

• Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities

• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity

• Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0

• Be a United States citizen 
   

Frandsen Bank & Trust is proud to present the Orlo A. Balcer Memorial Scholarship for 2026, awarding $1,000 scholarships to 25 outstanding high school seniors who are ready to take the next step in their education.

Who is Eligible?
The Orlo A. Balcer Memorial Scholarship is open to high school seniors graduating in spring 2026 who reside in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin and plan to attend a post-secondary institution in fall 2026.

To qualify, students must

• Provide proof of acceptance to a post-secondary institution as a full-time student by June 15, 2026.
• Be a Frandsen Bank & Trust customer or the dependent of a parent or guardian who is a customer.

The Hagan Scholarship Foundation The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, Receiving $6,000 each semester.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

1. Must attend an eligible public high school
2. Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA
3. Must enroll in an eligible college or university
4. Must maintain a 4 year or less graduation schedule
5. Applicant's Adjusted Household Income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not Exceed $125,000.00
