Response to Intervention
Using the Response to Intervention (RTI) model, we provide an early intervention for students who struggle with reading and math. Our goal is to intervene early and try to match the intervention strategy to the learner's specific needs.
Milaca Elementary School currently uses the RTI model in kindergarten, first, second, and third grades. We use FAST Bridge and AIMSWeb assessments along with other classroom data to determine a student's placement in one of three tiers (levels) of instruction:
Tier 1 = Benchmark (on or above grade level)
Tier 2 = Strategic (just below grade level)
Tier 3 = Intensive (significantly below grade level)
